AAUW-CA’s ResistBot: What it is and How to Use it

ResistBot is a simple, free tool that helps people contact their elected officials by sending a text message to 50409. It is an automated assistant—similar to today’s AI tools—that replies instantly with clear instructions when you text it. AAUW-CA uses ResistBot when they want members to take quick action on important federal or California legislation. Instead of searching for email addresses for your elected officials or writing your own message, you can sign onto an AAUW-CA–drafted letter in just a few minutes.

School Board Project Update:

We are in need of a representative to monitor the Lafayette School District. Denise Burian and Karen Feeney have been the monitors for the last two years, however since the Lafayette District meetings are the same night as the AUHSD meetings, they are not always able to attend both. Please contact Karen Feeney if you can help.

Upcoming School Board Meeting Dates for December:

  • Acalanes Union High School District – December 17, 7 pm, 1212 Pleasant Hill Rd, Lafayette
  • Lafayette School Board – December 17, 6 pm, in the District Board room at 1212 School Street, Lafayette
  • Moraga School Board – December 9 and 16, 6 pm, at Joaquin Moraga Intermediate School, 1010 Camino Pablo, Moraga
  • Orinda School Board – December 15, 6 pm, in the District Board room at 8 Altarinda Rd., Orinda

AAUW-CA’s 2025 Legislative Agenda: Some Big Wins & Some Tough Losses

AAUW-CA fights relentlessly for gender equity through advocacy. November’s California Public Policy Newsletter provides an excellent wrap-up on the 2025 legislative year. See pages 4-5 for a full article on the outcome of the 2025 Legislative Agenda, and pages 7-9 for a scorecard, relative to our 2025-27 Public Policy Priorities. The leadership and commitment of the AAUW-CA Public Policy Committee is extraordinary–guiding, focusing, and inspiring every California Branch, and propelling us into action.
